Research Theme: Query Formulation

This research theme focuses on studying how information seekers formulate their information needs as queries and interact with assistive technologies for query formulation, e.g., query auto-completion systems that assist users to formulate queries faster and avoid spelling mistakes by presenting them with possible completions as they start entering a query. This research theme also encompasses research and development of new methods for assisting searchers with their query formulation.
